TE Release Day - Deck the halls and the tags!

Hello!

Today is release day for Taylored Expressions and all of the new products are available in the Online Store. I hope you have fun shopping and I will be delighted to see what you make with the new stamp sets.

Of course release day wouldn't be complete without more samples. I thought I would share a project using another product that I did some design work on. I am a huge fan of making tags and was delighted when Taylor gave the green light to the Trim The Tag die set concept. She provided a fun tag base and I created clothes. No naked tags around here. ;) There is a Santa, Mrs. Clause, and a festive elf.

I used the dies to make six quick tags, two of each design. I used a variety of designer papers for a different look and feel on each tag. Except the elves. They are twins. ;)

Here are closeups of my favorite ones:

Mrs. Clause with the very faint blue polka dots.

And I gave her dress a bit of sass with more polka dots.

Elves need stripe-y pants, right? I thought so.

A traditional red Santa suit makes me the happiest!

Of course I had to add a bit of glitter to each outfit just for fun. Also, all of the sentiments on the tags are from the previously released Little Bits of Christmas stamp set. Besides gift packaging you could also use the tags as place settings - just write names where I added the sentiments.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed today's project.

TE Sneak Peeks: All I want for christmas is... a vacation?

Hello! So glad you could stop by today for a couple sneak peeks for the October Taylored Expressions Release

I had a ton of fun illustrating a few sets for this release and I'm hoping you enjoy them. There is another addition to the Grumpling line with the Elf Grumplings Stamp & Die Combo. More pick your favorite face fun with the new If Penguins Could Talk Stamp & Die Combo. And finally a delightful set of critters trying out as Santa’s Helpers (plus matching die set).

Sadly, I haven't had time to use all of the new sets but I did make a couple of cards with the new Elf Grumplings Stamp & Die Combo. Heh. Just had to. Enjoy!

Elf Number 1 just wants a bit of recognition for his hard work. And maybe some chocolate. I used designer paper and a bunch of dies for the layers: Stitched Circle Stacklets, Stitched Banner Stacklets, and Chunky Numbers. I colored the elf with Copic Markers and used a bit of a glitter pen and Glossy Accents on his belt buckle. I also added some white freckles using a white gel pen. For a final touch I added some enamel dots.

Yes, that is the face of someone who really wants chocolate. ;)

For card number two I used the same supplies but instead of Stitched Circle Stacklets, I used the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. And Elf Number 2 is in dire need of a vacation. Candy canes are about to fly.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm hoping a bit of Christmas grumpiness made you happy. Head over to the Taylored Expressions Blog to see all the sneak peeks for today!

TE Release Day: Did you bring the grump?

Hey Crafters -

It's a happy Thursday because it is Release Day at Taylored Expressions! And to make the day even better I have a lot of grumpy goodness to share.

For my first card I used the "hot dog" image from the Summer Grumplings stamp set to make a very bright and warm card. He's sizzling and hoping for some cooler weather. I feel the same way when it is time to mow the lawn - too hot!

For my second card I used the "perpetually-perplexed-penguin" to make a cooler toned card.

And of course he's asking the age old beach question. And yes, it is all the floaty's fault. ;)

TE Sneak Peek: A Whole Herd of Hellos

Hello Crafty Friends - It's a new month which means a new release from Taylored Expressions. This month I have a couple of stamp sets that are being released: Summer Grumplings which debuted yesterday and another chatty animal set called If Cows Could Talk which is being shared today.

I used the set to make a fun birthday card for my nephew who is turning 4 soon. I think it turned out moo-velous. ;)

I stamped the cow body three times and gave each one its own expression. I also stamped a birthday hat for each cow. After coloring all of the images I cut them out with the coordinating die. There isn't a die for the hat image so I just cut that by hand. I also die cut the number 4 from Salt Water Taffy card stock using the Chunky #'s die set.

The main background panel is a piece of watercolor paper colored with Sakura Koi Watercolors and then die cut with the Stitched Rectangles Stacklets. The sentiment is from the same set and was stamped in black ink on a piece of white card stock and then trimmed to size. I added some shiny sequins to finish the card.

TE Sneak Peeks: Party On!

Hello Crafty Friends -

I'm back with a second post this week for day three of sneak peeks for Taylored Expressions. Today we are celebrating the Fourth of July and we have a fun new Patriotic Pals stamp and coordinating dies set (I tried to draw these with serious expressions... lol).

See... so very serious... ;) I just know they have a huge can of party that they are just waiting to use!

And here the complete card is. I didn't have 4th of July themed paper but I did have a Doodlebug paper pack with some great reds and blues so that did the job. I also used the Stitched Banner Stacklet dies and a circle punch for some of the elements. For texture I added some glitter enamel dots and ivory jute.

TE Sneak Peek: Nailed it!

Hello Crafty Friends -

I can't believe how fast the year is going and that it is already May. The upside to time flying is that a new release is just around the corner. Just three more days! And this month we have more grumpiness to share with you. Crafty grumpiness. Five critters that shine a bit of light on the dark side of crafting: glitter catastrophes, picture cropping, paint spills, and more. If you haven't guessed, the new set is Crafty Grumplings and there are coordinating dies because we really don't want any scissor accidents. ;)

I used three of the grumplings to create a set of note cards:

I kept them simple and used the Craft Grumplings stamp set and dies, Stitched Banner Stacklets, Build a Bookmark Dies, Build a Tag 4 Dies, enamel dots, glitter, cardstock, designer paper, and 100% Wool Felt - Carrot.

Card 1 features a grouchy cow. One too many pricks of the needle has left this character less than pleased.

Card 2 features a crow and glitter... cause crows like shiny things.

Card 3 features a naughty tiger who likes to cut people out of pictures. Heh heh.

And I have another use for the new stamps to share with you. I used the painter bunny and a coordinating sentiment to decorate the May calendar in my planner. Instead of stamping on cardstock I stamped on sticker paper, colored, and diecut. Makes me giggle everytime.

TE Sneak Peeks: Hello Nap!

Hello Crafty Friends -

I'm delighted to share some grumpiness today. Grumpiness of the cute kind! It is Day 3 of sneak peeks for Taylored Expressions and we are debuting a bunch of new products including two small sets featuring Grumplings.

For my card today I used the Clocked Out Grumpling Die & Stamp Combo to make a quick retirement card.

This grouchy little cat is all about the chair surfing and naps and more naps. ;) My kind of cat!

You are AWESOME!

Hello! These last few weeks have been a whirlwind of busyness. Lots to do at work, a bit of travel, and plenty of creativeness... illustrating. ;) Which means I haven't been crafting much. But I did want to pop in tonight to share a fun card I made a while back and shared on Instagram.

These little monkeys are from the Monkey Business Stamp & Die Combo set (Taylored Expressions) and they are some of my favorite illustrations. After coloring and cutting them out I created a little scene using the Star Stacklets die set and the grass die from the Build a Scene - Calendar set. I used a sponge dauber and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to add a bit of sky behind the monkeys. Overall a simple but fun card.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to check back in soon with another project.

TE Sneak Peeks: Pretty Pink Dirty Socks

Hello everyone!

It is the last day of sneak peeks and I have a couple more samples to share using new sets. This month we are extra grumpy and are releasing not one but two Grumpling sets. In addition to the Mr. and Mrs. Grumpling set debuted on Monday we also have a Grown Up Grumplings stamp set (there are also coordinating dies).

For my first card I used the monkey doing laundry image to create a simple card. This little guy pretty much sums up my feelings on the laundry topic. Never ending and annoying.

I don't usually decorate the inside of cards but I really wanted to use the matching sentiment and it just wasn't working with the layout. So I stamped it on the inside and did a bit of decorating. In addition to the grumpling stamp set I also used the coordinating dies to cut out the monkey and a few of the accessory dies from Build a Tag 2.

For my second card I used the latest addition to the Wishes on a Wire set: Baby.

Lots of coloring with Copic markers and a bit of Glossy Accents and glitter. I went with a heavily pick color scheme since I know just who to send this card to. The designer papers are from the Rainbow Brights paper pack and I added some pretty scallops by die cutting a piece Strawberry Milkshake cardstock of using the Medium Scallop Border Die.

TE Sneak Peeks: Have a seat and take a load off

Hello everyone! I'm delighted to be back today with another sneak peek for Taylored Expressions. Today I'm using a set that is all about the cozy comforts of home: Sit and Chat. There are also coordinating dies to make cutting out easy peasy.

I used the comfy chair image and paired it with a sentiment from the set. I paper pieced the chair and added a bit of shading to the designer paper using Copic markers. The main elements came together quickly but I did spend some extra time creating the background by cutting designer paper and white cardstock using the Quatrefoil Cutting Plate. For a final touch I just added a few enamel dots.

TE Sneak Peeks: Forever and ever and ever and... never

Hello everyone!

It is almost the start of a new month which means it is just about time for another fabulous release from Taylored Expressions (this Thursday). I'm excited to play along with the sneak peeks this week and feature a few of the stamp sets that include some of my illustrating work.

For today I made a card with the not so blissfully wedded couple from the new Mr. and Mrs. Grumplings stamp set. Hee hee.

I stamped the couple on white cardstock and colored with Copic makers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and them added a bit of sparkle with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen. For even more sparkle I coated the bride's tiara with Glossy Accents and then dusted with glitter.

Behind the couple I added a layer of designer paper cut out with the Heart Stacklets Dies. I didn't have the perfect matching designer paper so I added a grey wash to a piece of watercolor paper and once dry spritzed with a Distress Marker. For embellishment I added a few sequins and a couple of flags cut from Earl Grey cardstock.

TE Release Day: Wishes on a Wire

Hello everyone!

Today is release day at Taylored Expressions and there are oodles of fabulous new products. Today I wanted to use the latest addition to the Wishes on a Wire line, St. Paddy's Day, to create a card with a whole lot of green. The color... not money.

I stamped the image in black and colored with Copic markers. I added some Glossy Accents and Glitter to the rainbow. I trimmed to size and rounded the corners. Behind the main image I added a panel I embossed with the Lots of Dots embossing folder and some patterned paper. I finished the card with a little layered flower that I cut from felt and embellished with jute and a big brad.

TE Sneak Peeks: If Bunnies Could Talk

Hello! I took a little vacation from blogging the last month and a half while moving to a new home. I’m happy to say the move is done and I have my craft area back up and running. Although it is in a completely different configuration so I have a bit of work remembering where I put everything. Lol.

Happily I found some time to play along with the Taylored Expressions release this month. I used a couple of my favorite illustrations for this first card: a sweet bunny featuring the very upset scowl image from the new If Bunnies Could Talk stamp set. The set includes a variety of different face images so the bunny can be customized for a variety of situations. There is also a backside image of the bunny… perfect for making spinner cards.

When I illustrate sets I sometimes include sentiment ideas. Yeah, I was ‘delighted’ to see this one make it into the set. Ha ha ha. Poor poor bunny.

For my card I kept the layout very simple and just added a few pops of color here and there with the watercolored background and the colorful eggs.
